About JAG
Everyone has a tale to tell, and Jag's began in 1972. The Jag brand was created by Adele and Rob Palmer of the Palmer Corporation, who introduced contemporary sportswear designs and "re-invented" denim which became an integral part of the Jag brand and its heritage.
For more than 30 years, Jag's stylish and easy to wear denim has walked the walk and gone the distance. The jeans boom of the 70's thrust Jag into the international fashion spotlight. In 1972 Australians were flocking into cinemas to see The Godfather and Led Zeppelin played the Australian tour. The early success of the Jag brand inspired all the right people to start talking about Australia and original Australian style.
By the 80's Jag boasted a star-studded cult following, with celebrities and style icons like Steve McQueen, Jackie Onassis, and Bianco Jagger donning Jag jeans at A-list events and dressing them down for weekends out of the spotlight. Wearing Jag became a sign of confidence and individuality and in that respect, not much has changed twenty years later.
There are several popular Jag fits. All styles are constructed of premium denim with their own designer stitching on the back pockets. The Foster and Sydney fits are two of the most popular fit models. The Foster fit is a mid rise flare and the Sydney is a little bit higher straight leg. Jag also designs the Lucy which is a little bit lower flare and the wide leg which is a little bit lower rise. For spring the Raleigh roll-up capri is very popular. In addition to their many blue denim finishes Jag also does wonderful color washed denim.
