Sales Associate/ Possible Key Holder

Love shoes, clothes and people?  Are you outgoing and willing to learn?  Interested in learning more about small business? Martin's is hiring for the sales associate position, 30-40 hours a week, including some weekends.

WHO WE ARE: Martin's is a 3rd generation business located across from Super 1 in Hope.  Our business has served SW, Arkansas for over 60 years, providing a constantly evolving selection of shoes, clothing, accessories, and home décor.  We do our best to give our area the things they want! 

Martin's is online, brick & mortar, and a 3rd party seller.  There is room to grow within our business for hard workers and self-starters!   

THE RIGHT FIT FOR US: Someone who is outgoing, independently motivated, and ready to learn and take on a variety of tasks within the business. Our goal is to provide customers with both quality products and customer service. As a sales associate, you are so much more than a cashier.  You'll be a stylist, a retail therapist, a merchandiser, a valuable source of knowledge, and a problem solver.

TASKS TO INCLUDE:

 

  • STYLIST (all training provided)

    •  

        • Listen to customers and help them find the right product and fit for their needs.  Be familiar with what's available and able to pull the types of items that might work well for them.
        • Learn about our shoes and be able to make recommendations and help fit them into the correct size.

     

  • VISUAL MERCHANDISING 

    •  

        • Assisting in or creating displays in-store
        • Social media content creation - not a requirement, but a huge plus if you are willing to create social media posts, videos, etc...  
        • Organizing merchandise to make it more shoppable.   

     

  • SALES

    •  

        • Be able to take part in all day-to-day operations in-store & assist customers.
        • Ability to work well with others or independently.  You will be part of a team, so a positive attitude is a must. 
        • Assist with events, work some weekends, and be willing to possibly open or close in the future.  
        • Assist customers in selecting the perfect accessories for their wardrobe. 
        • Self-motivated.  We want someone who doesn't stay behind the counter and who likes to stay busy straightening, helping, merchandising, etc...
        • Ability to lift up to 30lbs & stand for 6+ hours at a time
        • Being Bilingual would be a plus, but is not required.

     

  • BUYING

    •  

        • Associates who show the skills above may be shown how to do some of the buying and we welcome and value all of our teams suggestions for our product assortment.  

    WHAT WE CAN OFFER: We typically start at $11 an hour without experience.  Anything above that is based on experience and your willingness and ability to become a leader within our organization.  We will be implementing a program soon to allow you to make bonus $ based on selling certain items that will change monthly.   Full-time employees earn PTO based on hours worked.  Select holidays off- New Year's, Easter, Mother's Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas.  Rotating weekends off.
